Why Munich?

First and foremost it's my hometown and I think every F1/Racing Fan would like to get a racetrack in his hometown. :)

Additionally I would like to see Formula 1 back in Germany as it's an important Country in Motorsport and as F1 is just adding Street Circuits in the previous years so that's maybe the only way to get Germany back onto the calendar (and BMW back onto the grid as well? 👀)

Why Theresienwiese?

It's pretty much the only feasible location in Munich. I had a draft for a track in the middle of Munich as well (through English Garden, Leopoldstraße,...) but there wouldn't be enough space for a paddock or fan zones.

So in the end Theresienwiese/Bavariaring aren't only offering a great layout but is also famous for the Oktoberfest and offers enough space for the paddock and the fans!

Additionally the city is used to set up a world wide known event, to set up the public transport and to block the streets for that.

When?

As the place is needed for the Oktoberfest in the second half of the year the race has to be hold in the spring (April/May), preferably combined with races like Spain, Monaco or Imola.

Turn 1

A usual 90° left turn. Turn 1 is right in front of the ferries wheel and the olympic looping, well-known from the Oktoberfest.

Turn 2-3

A little "S", instead of another 90° turn, to make the circuit and racing more interesting.

Turn 4-7

Because Turn 8 is a hairpin and joining the circuit onto the public streets of Munich, and therefore has no run-off, the racecars are needing to slow down before arriving the said corner.

This is done by the section Turn 4-7. First the cars are aproaching a fairly big chicane (Turn 4-5). Through Turn 6 & 7 the track weaves back - approaching Turn 8.

Turn 8

As mentioned: At this haipin, the circuit is leaving the Theresienwiese and therefore entering the public streets of Munich.

Turn 9

Turn 9 is a little kink which is just leading into Turn 10.

Turn 10

A tight turn before backstraight. If you're a bit too late on the brakes, you'll end up in the wall.

Turn 11

Setting up the exit here is really important as it's leading onto the longest straight.

"Turn 12" / Backstraight

With 950m it's the longest straight of the circuit. It's slightly bend and passes through an avenue.

On this straight DRS is available.

Turn 13-14

Turn 13 is one of the best overtaking opportunities as it's offering a heavy breaking zone after the big DRS-Backstraight.

Turn 14 is just a little kink and the exit of Turn 13. At this point the track is uphill.

Turn 15

A 90° right turn after the first little uphill section. The corner offers a minor bit of a banking, which will make it easier to drive.

Turn 16-18

A left-right-left combination, passing the "Bavaria-Statue" and the "Ruhmeshalle" (=Hall-Of-Fame).

Turn 17, behind the Bavaria-Statue, is the highest point of the track, with an altitude difference of ~ 12 Meters (compared to the rest of the Theresienwiese).

Turn 19

The hardest corner of the circuit as the track is going downhill again and the drivers have to brake during the corner for Turn 20. So with Turn 19 the driver already has to watch out for the entry of Turn 20. (Similar to Bahrain Turn 9 & 10)

Turn 20

The last corner. A 90° right Turn back onto the Theresienwiese and with that onto the start-finish-straight with DRS.

During the exit, the driver will pass the iconic Oktoberfest entrance gate.
